Recreation on Campus
Grades 3 – 5
2012 dates will be coming soon!
It’s the final days of summer and the new school year is just around corner. End summer with bang and join us at R.O.C.! We have theme-filled days and fun activities designed just for 3rd to 5th graders. R.O.C. is also a great way to introduce your incoming 2nd grader to the Bel Aire campus and students. Register for the whole week or drop-in on the days of your choice.
Monday, 8/15 – Art Attack: Discover your artistic side and express yourself through paint, sculpture, drawing, natural objects and recycled materials. We will introduce new techniques and explore a variety of media. Wear clothes that can get messy!
Tuesday, 8/16 – Superheroes & Heroines: Are you ready to save the world? Dress up as your favorite existing or made up superhero! We’ll invent new super powers and design capes and masks as we share our feats of strength and bravery.
Wednesday, 8/17 – Slumber Party: That’s right…it’s a slumber party during the day! Except there’s no sleeping at this party. Wear your pajamas and play fun party games, make yummy snacks and watch a movie. Don’t forget your pillow!
Thursday, 8/18 – Hawaiian Luau: Take a trip to the south pacific as we explore the culture and cuisine of America’s favorite vacation destination. We’ll learn to hula, create a tropical collage and host our very own luau. It’s the next best thing to going there!
Friday, 8/19 – Splash Down: What’s summertime without a good ol’ fashioned water balloon toss? Bring your water guns and swimsuit, because it’s all about water today. We’ll do art projects with water, play water games and invent our own water park!
Monday, 8/22 – Creature Creations: Learn about our local critters and be inspired to create your own furry, scaled or feather friend! We’ll discover habitats, adaptations and behavior through art projects, stories, songs and hands on activities.
Tuesday, 8/23 – Hippie Day: Peace man! We’ll learn about the groovy decade through art projects, 60s inspired snacks (think Chex Mix and Tang!) and fun games. Don your bell bottoms and go-go boots as we play 60s musical chairs and tye dye t-shirts.
Wednesday, 8/24 – Wild, Wild West: Put on your cowboy/girl hats and spurs…we’re heading back in time to the wild west! We’ll play a game of gold rush, sing songs around the “campfire” and make chili. Yippee kiyay!
